How do I plan a route?
- Tap the "Plan Trip" tab at the bottom
- Enter your starting location in "From"
- Enter your destination in "To"
- Select your departure time
- Tap "Get Weather Forecast"
- View your route with weather conditions along the way
Why isn't my location showing?
WeatherThere needs location permission to show weather for your current position:
- Open iPhone Settings
- Scroll down and tap WeatherThere
- Tap Location
- Select While Using the App
Tip: Make sure Location Services is enabled in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
The weather data seems wrong. What should I do?
Weather data comes from OpenWeather. If it seems inaccurate:
- Check that your location is correct
- Weather forecasts are predictions and may vary
- Try refreshing by pulling down on the screen
- Weather conditions change rapidly, especially during storms
How do I see weather along my route?
When viewing your planned trip:
- The map shows your complete route
- Tap on any stop point to see detailed weather
- Scroll down to see all waypoints with weather conditions
- The timeline shows weather at each point when you'll arrive there
Can I save my favorite routes?
Currently, routes are not saved between sessions. Each time you open the app, you'll need to re-enter your trip details. We're working on adding saved routes in a future update!
Why are there ads in the app?
Ads help keep WeatherThere Planner free for everyone. We use non-personalized ads by default. You can:
- Limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
- Some ad placements can be dismissed for 30 minutes
The app keeps crashing. What should I do?
- Force close the app: Swipe up from bottom, swipe up on WeatherThere
- Restart your phone
- Update the app: Check App Store for updates
- Reinstall the app: Delete and reinstall from App Store
- If problems persist, contact us with details
How accurate are the route times?
Route times are estimates from Google Maps and may vary based on:
- Current traffic conditions
- Road closures or construction
- Weather conditions affecting driving speed
- Your actual driving speed
Troubleshooting
Can't Load Map
- Check your internet connection
- Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data
- Wait a moment and try again (server may be temporarily unavailable)
Weather Not Loading
- Ensure you have internet connectivity
- Pull down on the screen to refresh
- Check that location services are enabled
App Running Slowly
- Close other apps running in the background
- Restart your device
- Ensure you have available storage space
- Update to the latest iOS version
